Email domain

Send card emails from your own address, such as info@yourcompany.com, by adding two DNS records and verifying them.

Web

When a customer gets their card by email, it comes from passes@walletap.com with your card's name in front ("Your card via Walletap"). With your own email domain, it comes from your own address instead, such as info@yourcompany.com, and replies go to that address.

Your own email domain is turned on per account. Ask Walletap support to turn it on.

Set up your email domain#

  1. Open SettingsEmail domain.
  2. Enter your Domain (yourcompany.com), the address to Send from (info) and the Sender name your customers see.
  3. Click Add domain. Two DNS records appear.
  4. Add both records at your DNS provider, exactly as shown. Use the copy buttons.
  5. Click Verify. DNS changes can take up to a few hours to appear.
Your main domain or a subdomain#

Both work. Sending from your main domain (info@yourcompany.com) is what customers recognise. Sending from a subdomain you keep for these emails, such as obavijesti.yourcompany.com, keeps their reputation apart from your everyday email, and it is the safer choice if your IT team prefers not to touch the main domain's DNS.

The DNS records#

TypeWhat it does
TXT (DKIM)Signs every email with your domain, so inboxes trust it came from you. Required.
CNAME (Return-Path)Sends bounces back through your domain, which helps your emails reach the inbox. Recommended.

Adding these records does not change how your own mailbox works. Your existing email keeps arriving as before.

What changes when it is verified#

Once the TXT record is found, every card email, including your welcome email, goes out from your address. Until then, emails keep going out from Walletap, so nothing stops while you wait for DNS.

Remove your email domain#

Click Remove. Card emails go back to coming from Walletap straight away. You can then delete the two DNS records.
